This allows us to prepare for your specific needs and avoid any wait times.
While we work with a range of excellent skincare lines, Face Reality Skincare is a cornerstone of our services. We particularly appreciate their focus on customized skincare solutions and their commitment to using effective ingredients.
For optimal skin health, it's generally recommended to schedule facials every 4-6 weeks. This timeframe aligns with the skin's natural cell turnover cycle, which typically occurs every 28-42 days. Regular facials can help to remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and promote a healthy complexion.
Dermaplaning is a gentle and effective cosmetic procedure that uses a specialized, sterile blade to carefully remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hairs, commonly known as "peach fuzz." Think of it as a manual exfoliation that not only reveals brighter, smoother skin but also creates a flawless canvas for makeup application. Unlike other hair removal methods, dermaplaning doesn't just remove the hair; it also provides a superficial peel, stimulating cell turnover and leaving your skin feeling incredibly soft. It's a quick, non-invasive treatment with no downtime, making it a popular choice for those looking for a refreshed and radiant complexion.
We understand that life happens, and sometimes you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment. We simply ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice if you need to change or cancel a shorter appointment, and 48 hours' notice for longer appointments (typically those over an hour). This allows us to offer that time to another client. While we try to be as understanding as possible, late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee.
After your facial, your skin will be feeling fresh, clean, and rejuvenated, and a little extra care will help maintain those results and maximize the benefits. Here's what we recommend:
- Hydration is key: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. This is crucial for maintaining a healthy glow.
- Gentle skincare: Continue with your regular skincare routine, but be gentle. Avoid using any harsh exfoliants or active ingredients (like retinoids or strong acids) for at least 24-48 hours, or as advised by your esthetician. Focus on nourishing and hydrating products.
- Hands off! Resist the urge to touch or pick at your skin. Your esthetician has thoroughly cleansed and treated your skin, and picking can introduce bacteria and lead to breakouts.
- Sun protection is essential: Protect your freshly treated skin from the sun by applying a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen daily, even on cloudy days. Your skin will be more sensitive after a facial, so sun protection is especially important.
- Listen to your skin: Pay attention to how your skin feels. If you experience any irritation, contact us immediately.
Following these simple tips will help you prolong the results of your facial and keep your skin looking its best. We'll also provide specific aftercare instructions based on the type of facial you received.
While it's generally best to let your skin breathe and enjoy the full benefits of your facial for the rest of the day, whether or not you can wear makeup immediately after depends on the type of facial you received. For some gentler facials, light mineral makeup might be okay, but for more intensive treatments, we often recommend waiting 24 hours or even longer. Applying makeup too soon, especially heavy or comedogenic (pore-clogging) products, can irritate your freshly treated skin and potentially counteract the benefits of the facial.
We'll provide you with personalized aftercare instructions after your treatment, which will include specific guidance on makeup use. It's always best to err on the side of caution and let your skin recover fully, but we'll let you know what's best for your particular skin and the facial you received.
We offer several convenient payment options for your services at Aglow Aesthetics. We gladly accept most major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, and UnionPay International. We also accept cash. If you have any questions about payment, please don't hesitate to ask!
To secure your appointment and ensure we can dedicate the appropriate time for your personalized service, we require a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. This deposit will be applied directly to your total balance due at the time of your appointment. We appreciate your understanding.
